My hobbies are Horses, Photography , Landscaping my rose and vegetable garden and keeping my own flock of chickens for "homegrown", free range eggs.. One major goal of mine is to someday become a member of "The Longrider's Guild". ~ To become a member one must ride an equestrian journey of at least 1000 miles. I want to start my ride in Parker Arizona and finish in Lincoln City Oregon. |

My Past In a nut shell... I was born in California in the early 60's. I have 1 older sister and 2 older 1/2 brothers. (Yes I'm the baby) Our Mother passed away when I was 4 than soon after our Dad moved us to Portland Oregon. We later moved to the "Burbs" east of Portland where we grew up, married and raised our own families. |

I am "Mom" to 3 sons which now are young men. 25, 21 and 17. My oldest is married and has 2 children of his own. My "middle" son is not married but in a relationship. My youngest *- the "artist" who made the Salome Frog image on the upper left-hand corner of my pages, is presently living near the Oregon coast with his Grandmother and Father. (FACE PAINTING ANYONE?) July of 1997 we moved to Arizona as my Dad's health was failing and needed help. I remember our very first day here it was 115 degrees! |
Besides raising 3 boys I worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant for 20 years until 1999 when I started a House Cleaning business in Wickenburg. That was beguning to cause a lot of problems in my knees and shoulders so in 2003/04 I took some internet classes to learn Photo Restoration and Web Design. My new computer skills weren't sought after in Salome and no one could pay me enough to make me want to live closer to Phoenix so in November of 05 I applied for a driving job and they hired me on the spot. It isn't full time but it's local (which is important when one lives in the middle of nowhere). On my days off I do Photo Restoration , design Business Cards and work on my web pages.
I created "Desert Hues Photography" two years ago. It will soon be getting a major overhaul. I plan to totally rebuild it from scratch and I hope to have it finished before the end of 2009. ( But don't hold your breath!)
My goal for "salomeaz.com" is to provide a "gold mine" of information for travelers, winter visitors , people new to the area as well as year round residence. I plan to have a classified ads page up soon as well as a message board so keep checking to see what's new! Bear with me because I am still learning all this web design business but it's coming together nicely..
