Please Spay or Neuter Your Pets...

Each day 10,000 humans are born in the US - and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born.

As long as these birth rates exist, there will never be enough homes for all the animals.  As a result, every year 4 to 6 million animals are euthanized because there are no homes for them.

This small female mix breed was found in Salome Az. April 7th, 07.  I  fostered her for 2 weeks.

She  put on a little weight but she needed medical care and a forever home. She was very untrusting and afraid of people at first but warmed up as soon as she knew we weren't going to hurt her.

We have no room or time for more animals and could not keep her .  I found her a foster home and within 1 week her foster mom found her a forever home. (Thanks Carla)

Her new owner has since brought her to receive needed medical attention , had her spayed and up to date on all her vaccines.

Lives saved: 2,899,183 as of March 4, 2007

Each year between 10 and 15 million pets are abandoned in the United States. Of those homeless pets, more than 4 million lose their lives simply because they do not have homes. Because of the in-store adoption program our PetSmart stores have assisted our Animal Welfare Agencies in placing close to 3 million pets into loving homes.

Many people shy away from adopting shelter pets because of the misconception that they can only get “mutts” or dogs with behavior problems. Mixed breeds make great pets, too. It’s also important to note that 25 percent of shelter pets are purebreds and that specific breed rescue organizations can easily be located if one is looking for a specific pet.

What you need to know

about the pet food recall

Update as of April 10, 2007

Menu Foods extended its recall to include some wet cat food products manufactured at its Streetsville, Ontario plant in Canada upon further investigation into the use of potentially contaminated wheat gluten at its facilities. The expanded recall affects 13 Nutro products carried at PetSmart. Here's the complete list of products carried by PetSmart that are part of the recall, which includes the updated information.
